Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom stepped out for a rare joint red carpet appearance, wearing chic coordinated black outfits for the occasion.
Perry took a break from promoting her upcoming 143 album to support Bloom at the premiere of his upcoming film, The Cut, at the Toronto Film Festival. She wore a silky co-ord set with a midriff-baring bandeau and a high-waisted slinky maxi skirt. A sequined sash hung over her right shoulder and swept in front of her hips. She wore her hair in a high bun that showed off a daring, ultra-short microfringe. She accessorized with dangly looped silver earrings. She added a little extra drama to the look with a gray smokey cat eye.
Meanwhile, Bloom looked distinctly actorly in a thick white turtleneck, which he wore with a black blazer jacket and black trousers.
This marks their first red carpet appearance since they attended the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony in April, once again opting for complimentary all-black looks.
After the premiere, Perry was spotted inside the venue taking pictures of her husband during a Q&A with the rest of the cast. Perry may be the perfect picture of the supportive wife these days, but the pop star recently revealed that there was a time when their relationship wasn’t quite so strong. In fact, the pair actually split for a year early on in their relationship.
“We weren’t, like, really in it from day one,” Perry said during an appearance on Alex Cooper’s podcast, “Call Her Daddy.” “I mean, he was in a way, because he had just done a huge time of celibacy, and he had set intentions. I was fresh out of a relationship, and I was just like, ‘I can’t do this anymore. I need to go swim in a different pond,’ but I had yet to do a lot of real work.”
The pair broke up in 2017 and both individually spent time at the Hoffman Institute before coming back together. “I had a really tough year, and I finally went to Hoffman towards the end of that year that we were separated, and then I got the tools and spoke the same language, and it changed my life,” Perry said on the podcast. “It saved my life. I would be dead without it. I would not be on this planet.”
The couple now share a 3-year-old daughter, Daisy, who inspired Perry’s latest single, “Lifetimes.”
