Jennifer Lopez and Matt Damon attended the premiere of their sports drama, Unstoppable, on Friday at the Toronto Film Festival, but the producer of the movie and the diva’s ex-husband, Ben Affleck, didn’t come along.
Lopez portrays the role of a supportive mother of five in the movie, which is produced by Affleck’s production company Artists Equity.
According to Variety, hordes of fans surrounded the red carpet to catch a sight and maybe click a picture of Lopez and her co-stars Jharrel Jerome, Don Cheadle and Bobby Cannavale.
Jerome plays a college wrestler in Unstoppable who aspires to set a professional career in the sport.
It is based on the inspirational true tale of Anthony Robles, a wrestler at Arizona State University who, despite losing his right leg at birth, grew stronger and eligible for the game.
Robles, who also attended the premiere, expressed is excitement on the project, after receiving a two-minute standing ovation.
“It’s still hitting me tonight,” he said. “I’m so proud. I couldn’t be any happier.”
Lopez also shared her thoughts, talking about the hardships Robles’ mother Judy faced throughout the years supporting her son.
“When I read the script I felt like so many woman including myself could relate to the struggles she’s gone through,” Lopez said. “The story being Latino was so inspiring. It grabbed me.”
