Since its launch in 2019, Collagerie has been at the forefront of the online shopping revolution. Founded by former Vogue editors Lucinda Chambers and Serena Hood, the website curates the best in interiors, fashion and lifestyle at all price points. It’s pretty much a one-stop-shop for a guaranteed good purchase, whether it’s for your house or for a gift.
This week marks the launch of the John Lewis x Collagerie exclusive homeware collection. With 34 shops in the UK, John Lewis is a British homeware staple – reliable and functional, with good design at its core. As such, the collaboration is a smart step for the two brands – one young and innovative, one established and consistent.
The collection features 86 pieces, including lighting, tableware, wallpaper, bed linens, cushions, and nightwear. Celebrating British archival prints, it reimagines classic designs with bold patterns and vibrant colours. Ranging from £8 to £210, the collection highlights British craftsmanship and is available both online and in stores. “Collaborating with Lucinda and Serena on this collection has been a passion project. The combination of Collagerie’s unique design perspective with our history has resulted in pieces that are both contemporary and timeless. Our customers are in for a real treat,” commented Camilla Rowe, Head of Home Accessories Buying at John Lewis.
Lucinda Chambers told House & Garden that it has been a “joyful experience” to work on this collection: “At the heart of it, and the start of it all, are the prints. I think we all have a John Lewis story in us so to have delved into the archive, looking at literally thousands of prints was a real privilege. What we chose and what has transpired are very close to the originals and yet it all looks totally contemporary, and everything has a timeless quality to it.”
As has always been the case since John Lewis’ inception in 1864 (when the first store arrived in London’s Oxford Street) the products are sturdy and durable but still affordable. A particular highlight from the collection is the Ikat Stripe wallpaper, which is available in either ‘Eau de Nil’ or ‘Petrol’, which is available from £35.
