Every now and then, a perfect pop culture photo lands on the internet and—well—breaks it. Just take the now much-memed photos of a beleaguered Ben Affleck smoking or a blissful Leonardo Di Caprio soaking up the sun from the backseat of his car.
This week, a new celeb photo has been making the rounds. The already infamous picture was taken on Monday at The Kering Foundation’s 3rd Annual “Caring for Women” dinner. It shows Orlando Bloom seemingly checking out Kim Kardashian’s bum while standing with one arm around his partner, Katy Perry. (Perry, incidentally, wore a gorgeous teal structural sequined gown for the occasion.) Naturally, the photo soon made the rounds on social media.
Well, we now know what Perry makes of all of this—and, unsurprisingly, she had the best response ever. During an appearance on DJ Elvis Duran’s radio show this week, she was shown the viral photo for the first time. Without skipping a beat, she stated, “I approve.”
She then added, “So wait, what’s the controversy?”
Perry and Bloom’s latest appearance comes after Perry supported Bloom at the premiere of his latest film The Cut at the Toronto Film Festival last week. The couple wore coordinated black outfits for the event. Earlier this year, Bloom leant his support to Perry, joining her for an evening out with her American Idol co-stars after she wrapped her final season of the show. In April, they made another red carpet appearance for the 10th annual Breakthrough Prize Ceremony at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
Perry has been busy gearing up the for the release of her album, 143, which lands on September 20. Her second single, “Lifetimes,” is inspired by her love for her 3-year-old daughter, Daisy, whom she shares with Bloom. “I tell my daughter, obviously, I love you, before she goes to bed every night, but I’ve started telling her, Will you find me in every lifetime? and she says, Yes!” explained Perry during a recent appearance on BBC’s The One Show.
