If there’s one thing Rita Ora will never say no to, it’s a sheer red carpet gown. In fact, Ora is kind of the queen of repping the naked dress look.
Last night, Ora once again made the case for the trend at The Walt Disney Company’s Emmy after-party, which she attended alongside her husband, director Taika Waititi. She wore an elegant, gothic waterfall of a dress for the occasion. The black gown featured an off-shoulder ruffled bodice with an almost Victorian corseted silhouette. The long skirt was sheer and covered in delicate floral embroidery. Ora wore her hair slicked back with a deep side part and a sleek curl on one side. She carried a black and gold clutch and kept her jewelry minimal. Overall, the look was a sumptuous, gothic dream.
This is just the latest playful spin on the classic naked dress from Ora from the past year. Last November, she rocked a sheer black dress that partly covered her face. At May’s Met Gala, she wore a dress made entirely of strings of ancient beads. She wore another barely there dress, complete with a giant flower detail, to the after-party. In July, she wore a transparent gold maxi dress while attending a Girls Aloud show in London. By the looks of things, Ora’s love affair with sheer fashion isn’t going to stop anytime soon.
Ora’s moody black dress was her second dress of the evening. At the Emmy Awards, the singer wore a dress that struck quite a different tone. Her first strapless pale pink gown featured a sweetheart neckline and a soft mermaid silhouette. She paired the romantic gown with a matching feathered cape.
