Prince William has raised eyebrows with his latest move which seems to be a slap in the face for Prince Harry amid his ongoing feud with the Duke.
A royal insider has suggested that the future king’s bombshell decision to meet Donald Trump has seemingly shattered the Duke’s hopes of reconciliation.
An insider called the meeting “a retaliation from William to Harry’s attacks.”
“It seems to be a hidden message from heir to the throne to the royal who paid no respect to his royal image,” they added.
On the other hand, Ingrid Seward, on GB News, said the meeting between the Prince of Wales and the US president-elect was “very interesting”, taking place in a presidential-style setting.
Seward went on claiming that William ‘knew he would annoy’ the Duke by meeting with his ‘arch-enemy’.
During the meeting, the eldest son of King Charles appeared in high spirits, finding satisfaction in sitting down with Trump who has been openly critical of Harry and Meghan.
William was among 40 heads of state and government attending the cathedral’s reopening, representing King Charles III who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. The encounter marked their first meeting since Trump’s state visit to the UK in 2019.
“A good man, this one!” Trump told reporters, gesturing to William during their meeting. “He’s doing a fantastic job,” he added as William laughed.
Seward said: “I thought they would just be shaking hands in Notre Dame but it was a proper meeting. I think the whole Royal Family are very vital in the special relationship the government has with the Trump administration, because he loves them.”
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams suggested Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might be “a little bit nervous” about Harry’s US visa situation following the meeting.
However, the author downplayed the likelihood of visa discussions during the encounter, saying: “I very strongly doubt that Harry and Meghan are among the priorities of the president.”
