Environmental artists Randi Renate and Beatriz Chachamovits have debuted a monumental marine ecosystem sculpture at the Miami Art Fair. The piece has an interactive component and is intended to highlight the importance of marine ecosystems, as well as the public’s duty to support and restore this natural habitat.
The marine ecosystem sculpture is titled ‘On Water and Future Dreams’ and was on view from December 3rd until December 8th. The installation is made of powder-coated steel and individually cast coral shapes. The piece “invites viewers to connect with and take responsibility for preserving these vital habitats.” It figures as a testament to the power of community collaboration and action around coral reef conservation.
On Water and Future Dreams was designed with the capabilities to be a traveling installation.
