- When making dahi vade, adding a little semolina to the dal will make it soft and fluffy, enhancing both taste and texture.
- In winter, if you love adding ginger to your tea, instead of simply slicing it, try grinding it well before adding it. This ensures all the properties of ginger are released into the tea, making it tastier and healthier.
- While making garlic chutney, add ghee and a little lemon juice while grinding the garlic. This will intensify the flavour of the chutney.
- If your gram flour tends to spoil quickly, or gets infested with insects, try wrapping a bay leaf and one or two cardamoms in paper and keeping them in the box. This will help prevent spoilage.
- When making paneer at home, don’t discard the water that comes out of the milk. Instead, add it while kneading dough for puris, rotis, or parathas. It will make them soft and tasty.
- If you like eating sprouted grains or pulses, squeeze some lemon juice over them and store them in the fridge to keep them fresh for longer.
- When preparing mixed vegetable cutlets, don’t throw away the water left over from boiling the vegetables. You can use this water to make dals, soups, or vegetables, enhancing their taste and nutrition.
