While Janhvi Kapoor might slay in red-carpet outfits, couture pieces, cocktail sarees, and whatnot, she definitely knows how to stand out in a traditional South-Indian style half saree. A quick perusal of her Instagram reveals that she has always been loyal to the half saree and has worn it on special occasions, poojas, or temple visits. The actor recently took to her social media to share a New Year’s wish with her fans and what has caught everyone’s eye is her ethnic wear.
Taking to her Instagram, Janhvi Kapoor shared a series of pictures of herself in a colour-blocked half saree. She wrote, “Happy New Year.” She ditched the casuals, the dresses, and the gowns and ringed in the new year in an ethnic attire.

For her New Year look, Janhvi opted for a bold multicoloured lehenga saree. She went with a purple silk blouse which came with a stunning gold brocade embroidery on the back and half-length sleeves. The blouse also had a classic deep neckline, a contrasting light blue border, and a chic backless design. She paired the blouse with a matching Kanjeeveram silk blue lehenga which was adorned with gold Zardozi work. The lehenga came with a pleated silhouette and a light flare which gave the overall look a feminine flair. What made it stand out was the broad purple border which was decked with brocade work. She completed the look with a purple chiffon dupatta that she had draped like a pallu.
For the accessories, Janhvi went with dainty rings, a diamond necklace, and matching earrings. She styled her hair in a half updo hairdo. For the makeup, she went with her signature dewy glam look. She went with well-groomed eyebrows, mascara on her eyelashes, a bindi, muted pink eye shadow, light pink lips, and a hint of blush for that flush of colour.
