Golden Globes 2025: All We Imagine As Light may not have won at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards 2025, but filmmaker Payal Kapadia made a stylish impact on the ‘blooming’ red carpet.
Looking comfortably chic, Payal was styled in homegrown brand Payal Khandwala’s ensemble. Her red carpet look featured a handwoven jumpsuit crafted from matte lightweight silk. Adorned with brocade details on the pockets, the black jumpsuit comes with the brand’s signature loop neck that can be draped uniquely each time you wear it.
A dynamic intersection of culture and art, Khandwala’s design language explores craft and design through exemplary fabrics. According to the brand, the handwoven matka silk has been sourced from the traditional weaving regions of Eastern India, and is known for its rich texture, lightweight feel and durability.
Kapadia kept her style and makeup minimal and had her hair styled in a bun. As for the accessories, Kapadia’s red carpet look saw her accessorise with the iconic #Artists4Ceasefire ring/pin – featuring the red glossy circle with a hand and a heart. According to Artists Call For Ceasefire Now, the symbol signifies that no matter the faith or ethnicity, we condemn the killing of Palestinian and Israeli civilians.
The film All We Imagine As Light was nominated in two categories – Best Director (Film) and Best Film (Non-English language). Kapadia may have lost out on the awards but her presence on the red carpet was celebrated in style.
This year, we hoped to see more Indian designs shine on the red carpet. Hopefully, we get to see more international and Indian celebrities grace the international red carpet in Indian couture and designs.
