Dimple Kapadia’s hair needs no introduction. Her fans have always wondered about the secrets behind the actor’s glossy hair. A few months ago she appeared on a fashion magazine cover and her gorgeous locks became the talk of the town once again. In an earlier interview with Vogue, the veteran actor had shared the secrets behind her healthy hair. Turns out, she keeps her haircare simple and that does all the magic.
Speaking to Vogue in 2021, Dimple Kapadia revealed what she does to take care of her hair. She mentioned how inculcated the habit of oiling her hair in childhood and that has stuck with her. She said, “Oiling goes a long, long way. I oil my hair overnight, then get a head massage with a homemade hair pack, which is a mixture of eggs (5 whites and a whole egg) and a banana. I leave it on for 10-30 minutes and then wash it through with lukewarm water… the habit of oiling was prevalent throughout my childhood, and it helped as I have always had very dry, thick, and coarse hair. Without the amount of professional styling I’ve had over the years, it would not look so glossy and shiny.”
In the same conversation, the 67-year-old actor revealed how she mixes certain oils to create a hair oil that works best for her hair. She said, “My secret hair oil recipe is a concoction of almond and sandalwood oil as a base, with geranium, rosemary, and lavender essential oils. This is the legacy I’ll pass down to my grandchildren – oil your hair and do not colour it… onion juice is excellent for the hair but I think, the safer option is to use the onion extract oils you get now.”
Additionally, the actor also mentioned that diet also plays an essential role in promoting hair growth and maintaining healthy hair. She said that she ‘ate a lot of fish growing up’. Fish contains healthy omega fats that promote hair growth.

- 5. Hair Masks and Deep Conditioning- Use a nourishing hair mask or deep conditioner once a week to replenish moisture and strengthen your hair. You can also make DIY masks using natural ingredients like yogurt, honey, and avocado for deep hydration.
