These changes have shifted societal perceptions, encouraging a broader demographic to explore aesthetic procedures. And of course, rising disposable incomes and more affordable treatment options have made these procedures accessible to a larger population.
An essential driver of this market’s expansion has been the growing number of FDA approvals for facial injectables. These regulatory advancements have not only reassured consumers about safety and efficacy but have also stimulated innovation, enabling the introduction of treatments that cater to diverse and evolving consumer needs.
In India, the facial injectable market reflects this global trend, growing at an even faster rate. Generating USD 232.9 million in 2023, the market is forecast to reach USD 618.8 million by 2030, achieving a CAGR of 15% from 2024 to 2030.
Hyaluronic acid-based treatments have emerged as the fastest-growing segment, driven by their ability to hydrate and revitalize the skin. According to the ISAPS 2022 report, nearly 176,899 injectable procedures were performed in India, with botulinum toxin accounting for 96,368 treatments and hyaluronic acid injections for approximately 71,734 procedures. This growth is further supported by India’s competitive pricing, which is about one-tenth of that in the U.S., making it an attractive destination for medical tourism.
Consumer attitudes toward aesthetics have evolved significantly over the past few decades. Aesthetic procedures are no longer viewed as luxury indulgences but as part of a self-care routine that promotes confidence, well-being, and skin health. Millennials and men, in particular, are increasingly embracing these treatments, with younger individuals opting for injectables in their 20s and 30s to prevent the early signs of aging.
