Jennifer Lopez is ready to leave her relationship with Ben Affleck in the past. After officially settling their divorce on Monday, January 6, a source said Lopez is focused on moving forward.
“The fairy tale she was promised turned out to be a nightmare in the end,” the insider told People, referring to Affleck and Lopez’s reconciliation 17 years after they initially called off their relationship.
They added, “She’s in a really good place and just wants to close the door on this crazy chapter,”

A separate source previously told the outlet that Affleck is also doing well and is “very happy with life.” “He enjoys working,” the insider said in November. “He seems to be in a good place.”

Just hours before they reached a settlement, Lopez was spotted at Affleck’s house on Sunday. In photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Lopez was captured arriving at her ex’s property in a cropped brown sweater and baggy jeans. The outlet added that she hugged the actor’s son Samuel. Her child Emme came out of the house to greet her before they all headed inside.
The exes—who first met on the set of their 2003 film Gigli and later tied the knot in 2022—have prioritized keeping their relationship “amicable,” according to Page Six, and even exchanged Christmas gifts. “They have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives despite not being romantically involved,” the source told the outlet. “Ben and Jennifer are still connected and they do communicate when it involves their kids.”
