Opendoor has officially unveiled its report of the hottest ZIP codes and hidden gem cities for prospective home buyers, and once again, warm-weather states like Texas and Florida dominate the list.
From sunny suburbs to blossoming neighborhoods, these locations have captured home buyers’ attention across the country. According to the National Association of Realtors, over 4 million existing homes were purchased throughout 2024. But with house prices on the rise and interest rates continuing to soar, finding the right place to buy a home can make for a real headache in today’s market.
Fortunately, Opendoor’s latest list has you covered with some of the top real estate hotspots chosen for their rapid growth, affordability, and proximity to major cities.
Hottest Zip Codes
If sunshine and suburban living are on your wish list, we’ve got some great news for you. Texas and Florida continue to dominate the real estate scene, claiming 75% of this year’s hottest ZIP codes.
Katy, Texas, claimed the title of the nation’s hottest ZIP code for 2024, dethroning Cypress, Texas to this year’s second spot. Along with Katy and Cypress, other ZIP codes that topped the charts include:

- Forney, TX
- Parrish, FL

Opendoor’s methodology for Top ZIP codes included identifying by analyzing data from the local Multiple Listing Services where Opendoor Brokerage operates. ZIPs were ranked by total homes that went into contract within 90 days of listing in 2024.

Along with the most popular cities for home buying, Opendoor also identified some up-and-coming locations making some noise of their own. These neighborhoods are characterized by smaller populations, simple lifestyles, and availability of move-in-ready homes. Even better?
