Everything about Tom Holland and Zendaya’s engagement has been absolutely swoon-worthy. And every time the internet thinks it can’t get any cuter, the couple gives them another reason to gush. From Zendaya iconically debuting her stunning east-west ring at the Golden Globes to the love birds getting matching tattoos just weeks before their betrothal, details of their union feel right out of a romcom. In the latest development, Holland’s dad, Dominic Holland, revealed the actor made the most gentlemanly gesture before asking for Zendaya’s hand.
According to the proud father, author, and comedian, The Crowded Room star’s proposal was thoroughly planned out, down to the location. In a traditional move, it also included asking Zendaya’s dad for permission to get down on one knee.

“Tom, as you know by now, was very incredibly well prepared,” Dominic wrote in a blog post on his Patreon page. “He had purchased a ring. He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter.”
“I on the other hand was woefully ill-prepared, almost as though I wasn’t taking it seriously,” Dominic joked of his own proposal. “I do fret that their combined stardom will amplify their spotlight and the commensurate demands on them and yet they continually confound me by handling everything with aplomb.”
Dominic seemed to give his own blessing on their engagement, offering some well wishes and expressing confidence in their romance.

“And even though show-business is a messy place for relationships and particularly so for famous couples as they crash and burn in public and are too numerous to mention,” he continued. “With us an example, with Nikki helming this family and my ‘wisdom’ on tap and a study in getting things mostly wrong and yet somehow right at the same time, I am completely confident they will make a successful union.”
Tom popped the question over the holidays at one of Zendaya’s family homes. He then told his friends the news around New Year’s; the couple managed to keep things quiet until January 5, when the Euphoria star made her stunning arrival at the prestigious ceremony.

In another adorable detail, it appears Tom was playing the long game with their engagement. Internet sleuths found that Zendaya had liked a photo of a wedding ring that looks strikingly similar to her band back in September 2022, suggesting that Holland has been taking keen notes for quite some time.
It’s clear the Bero founder made the right choice, as Zendaya can’t stop looking at the piece, which is believed to be the Jessica McCormack 5.02-Carat East-West Cushion Diamond Button Back Ring. A video shows the “All for Us” singer admiring her new bling during a screening of Challengers.
Overall, the couple is very “excited” to be headed toward marriage.
