David Schwimmer goes through an emotional rollercoaster while he watches The Great British Bake Off.
The 58-year-old actor said, “I tear up” while watching the show, in a new interview, revealing that his favourite contestant is Nelly Ghaffar.
“There’s a woman on it that has stolen my heart. She’s from Slovakia,” Schwimmer told Page Six.
The Friends alum appeared on a special celebrity edition of the popular series in 2023 for a fundraising campaign for cancer and he received the highly valuable Paul Hollywood handshake for a vegetable and curry pot pie.
“Honestly, I’ve never had tofu that I’ve enjoyed before,” Hollywood spoke before offering his hand to Schwimmer, adding, “That is a fantastic pie.”
The Madagascar actor is now returning to the TV screens on the upcoming anthology series Goosebumps: The Vanishing.
Schwimmer will be playing the character of Anthony Brewer, a former botany professor and divorced father of twins who are sent to spend a summer in their dad’s neighborhood.
The Emmy nominee acknowledged that while he never read the novels, he had “of course” heard about them and knew the series was “really beloved.”
“I am a huge fan of the horror-action-comedy genre, and I’ve just never been able to play in that genre, so I was really, really excited,” the Tangled star told the outlet.
The series being shot in New York came as a pleasant surprise to Schwimmer and made him all the more excited.
“I was born in Queens, and we shot all over Queens and Brooklyn. … I just thought it was too delicious an opportunity [to pass up],” said the actor who lives in New York.
