Beatles legend Ringo Starr reveals a shocking truth about his vocals, rehashing hysterics from the past.
During an exclusive interview with The Sunday Times, Starr, who rose to fame as the drummer for the Beatles in the 1960s’, revealed that he “always wanted” a different singing voice.
He told the outlet, “Well, I always wanted to be someone else. Like Jerry Lee [Lewis] or someone! I mean, I can hold a tune, as long as it’s in my key.
“And it just worked out with the Beatles because John and Paul were great writers.
Reflecting on the band’s songwriting skills, he further went on to add, “That’s what made us. And I’d get one song. And a couple of them were really good, you know, With a Little Help from My Friends and Yellow Submarine. They’re still huge and I still do them on tour. They wrote me a lot of really nice songs.”
In addition, the 84-year-old explained how everything worked out for the band alongside his bandmates John Lennon, George Harrison, and Sir Paul McCartney.
The musician credited their success to songwriting talent within the band, which made it possible for the band to be top-notch in the 1960s.
