David Schwimmer is counting his blessings as Friends continues to resonate with audiences over three decades after its debut.
Reflecting on the sitcom’s enduring impact, the 58-year-old actor, who famously portrayed Ross Geller on the hit sitcom, shared his gratitude during an interview with People magazine published January 11.
“It just brings up a lot of gratitude for me that people are still discovering the show and still finding it funny and comforting after so many years,” he said, marking Friends’ 30th anniversary in September 2024.
Similarly, speaking on Good Morning America days earlier, Schwimmer called the hit series “the gift that keeps on giving,” adding, “I feel really grateful and blessed to have done something that people find fun.”
The Madagascar alum also shared touching stories about the show’s global impact, recalling how some fans have learned English through Friends or found comfort during tough times. “It’s moments like that that remind me how special this show is,” he said.
While Schwimmer cherishes his Friends legacy, his current project, Goosebumps: The Vanishing, has reminded him of the physical demands of acting.
During filming, he tweaked his back performing a stunt. “I didn’t really hurt myself, but the next day I was like, ‘Oh, I’m not 22 anymore,’” he joked.
