With both King Charles III and Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, being diagnosed with cancer in 2024, last year was quite shocking and disturbing for the UK royal family. Their personal health crisis was also something which “strengthened” the bond between King Charles III and Kate Middleton. However, a royal author claims that despite King Charles and Kate’s close bond, there is one conversation that the King refuses to have with the Princess of Wales.
Royal author Christopher Andersen told Fox News that though it is well known that Prince William and Kate are the next in line to the throne, the King refuses to talk about this to the royal couple. “The king is not about to be giving Kate advice about being a future queen… That would simply give oxygen to the notion that he might not be around much longer, and Charles III intends to stay put on the throne for years to come,” Andersen said.
For the unversed, Charles waited for 70 years to become the King– this makes him the longest-serving heir apparent to the throne in British history. And so, it is evident that he wouldn’t like to give up the throne any time soon. “Charles has wanted to be the monarch for decades… Even though he’s battling cancer, he’s not letting that get in the way of his desire to be successful on the throne or a dynamic leader,” an insider said as per reports.
Royal author Christopher Andersen further added that Queen Camilla too avoids speaking to Kate about what it is like to be the queen. “[Camilla] has not felt compelled to speak with Kate about what it’s like to be queen,” he told Fox News.
Meanwhile, buzz is that being the future King, Prince William is planning for his ascension to the throne “behind the scenes”, the insider said. As of his wife Kate, the Princess of Wales is recovering from cancer and is slowly returning to her royal duties this year. But it seems that she won’t be participating in any long trips in the coming months this year.
