Farah Khan recently gave fans a glimpse into Karan Johar’s house. His house was an extension of his opulent personality.
Karan Johar has always believed in living a life of opulence and luxury. This philosophy has translated into his house which is an extension of his personality. Located in Mumbai’s Bandra, the director lives in a sea-facing duplex which is valued at Rs 30 crore. Recently, Johar’s best friend, Farah Khan, gave fans a glimpse into his 8000-square-foot apartment.
On her YouTube channel, Farah Khan gave fans a tour of Karan Johar’s luxurious house in Mumbai. The house features a sleek, modern staircase which connects the floors. Khan said, “Hi guys, welcome to not my house. Today, we have come to Karan Johar’s home, and he is not home right now. And this series is called ‘How poor do I want to feel’. So, let’s go and see.”

Khan started the tour of Johar’s house with his modern lobby and lounge which comes with a bar. She mentioned how this space has hosted everyone from Deepika Padukone to Shah Rukh Khan. She, then, moved to Johar’s ‘copper washroom’ which is stocked with ‘tiffin boxes’ for guests to take when they leave. Johar joins Khan and they make their way to his modern kitchen.
Johar introduces his cook and takes the audience through his kitchen. His sleek and modern kitchen has been fitted with metallic accents and the latest gadgets and décor pieces. He has incorporated sleek wooden and white-toned lighting fixtures and decorative accessories to lend his kitchen a modern and sophisticated look. The kitchen was well-stocked and it had enough storage space and space on the counters as well.
He mentioned that parts of the house had been designed by Gauri Khan. That explains why certain sections of his home blend modern elements with warmth and comfort which is a signature feature in Gauri Khan’s design style. Apart from her, other sections of the house have been designed by interior designer Simone Dubash Pundole.
After the kitchen, he took the audience to the lounge and living room which came with ceiling-high glass windows. These glass windows bring in an ample amount of natural light and offer stunning views of the city. He has decked this space with neutral tones, plush seating, and statement lights. His 10-seater dining table comes with a glossy finish which lends a luxurious feel to the dining place. He has also placed beautiful artwork on the walls which add a pop of colour to his space. He also gave a peek into his walk-in closet where he created a lot of storage space with wooden cupboards and full-length mirrors.
Blending comfort with style, he has converted the terrace into a place where he can organize get-togethers. He has added outdoor furniture for people to sit and relax and has also added a variety of trees and plants to add some greenery to the space.
