Til is known to be a superfood, especially eaten during winter. It has nutritional qualities to regulate blood pressure, improve bone and gut health & support immunity.”
She started the recipe by roasting the seeds in an iron kadhai. As the seeds cooled down, she added a tablespoon of ghee and 3-4 tablespoons of jaggery into a separate pan. Inspired by the actor, here is how you can make tilgul at home.
Ingredients
- 1 cup white sesame seeds
- ¾ cup jaggery
- ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder (optional)
- 2 teaspoon ghee plus a little to grease the palm
Process
- 1. Heat a heavy bottom pan and add the sesame seeds to it. Roast the seeds for a few minutes on low flame.
- 2. Remove the roasted sesame seed on a plate and add ghee and jaggery to the pan.
- 3. Let the jaggery bubble up, and cook it for 2 minutes until it forms a soft ball stage.
- 4. Reduce the flame to low and add the roasted sesame seeds to the pan. Mix well and remove from the flame.
- 5. Once the mix is cooled down, grease your palm with ghee and start making small balls.
- 6. Store the laddoo in an airtight container.
