Martha is a known animal lover, caring for horses, chickens, dogs, cats, and more on her 152-acre farm. Recently, Martha added another member to her furry family—a Persian cat named Magnolia she adopted from Rock ‘N Rescue, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Bedford Hills, N.Y.
Martha shared the exciting news on Instagram with a picture of Magnolia. “Meet Magnolia, a beautiful four year old silver shaded Persian cat and the newest member of my family,” she captioned the post, urging her followers to consider adoption when looking for a new pet.
In December, Martha learned that a cat at Rock ‘N Rescue was searching for her forever home. “I love Persians and have been thinking of adding another to my family. I made an appointment to visit right away, and that same afternoon I took her with me back to Cantitoe Corners,” Martha wrote on her blog.
This specific breed is known for being laid-back, charming, and affectionate. According to Martha, Persian cats like Magnolia are loved for their regal appearance, often being referred to as the “aristocrats of the cat world.” They’re recognized by their round, flat faces and long flowing coats that need to be brushed daily.
While Magnolia is still in a transitional phase, she has been adjusting well to life at Martha’s. She spends time roaming from room to room and greeting the many people that come and go on Martha’s property. “She’s doing extremely well and will be a wonderful addition to my menagerie and my family. Welcome home, Magnolia,” Martha writes.
