To maintain her toned body, Demi Moore incorporates yoga with strength training into her fitness routine.
After working in Hollywood for almost four decades and delivering some of the most iconic movies in pop culture, Demi Moore recently secured her first-ever Oscar nomination. She has been nominated in the Best Actress category for The Substance. While she was promoting the film, she shared how she stays fit at 62.
Demi Moore revealed that her fitness routine has evolved over the years. She mentioned how she has slowed down and has started to focus more on health and wellness. Talking to CBS Sunday Morning last year, the actor talked about how she would put intense pressure on herself to meet Hollywood’s beauty standards. She said, “I put so much pressure on myself. I did have experiences of being told to lose weight. And all of those, while they may have been embarrassing and humiliating, it’s what I did to myself because of that… Even just the idea of, like, what I did to my body, it’s, like, so crazy, so ridiculous.”
In an earlier interview with Westman Atelier, Demi said, “[I was] dieting and exercising in a very obsessive-compulsive way… I changed my body over multiple times but wasn’t really myself… I added to my daily prayer a new mantra: to have the courage to be seen without padding or protection. I couldn’t go on fighting my body and my weight; I had to make peace, I started by giving up hard exercise. I never went back into the gym in the house. Never. The room it occupied is now my office.”
In her 40s, Demi decided to slow down and accept her body. She took up yoga and she mixed that with strength training.
Apart from exercise, Demi has switched to a raw vegan diet. This diet focuses on organic fruits, vegetables, juices, and soups. It eliminates cooked food from the diet. She has also cut back on the amount of alcohol.
