Harris Dickinson briefly shed light on the rumours circulating about him playing John Lennon in the upcoming Beatles biopic.
The 28-year-old actor shied away from the topic saying, “Don’t ask me about that,” when his latest interview broached the topic.
The Babygirl star neither confirmed nor denied his appearance in Sam Mendes’ four part Beatles movies, as he said, “Okay, my comment is that I think it would be a brilliant opportunity to play John Lennon, and to work with Sam and everyone else mentioned,” during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday, January 29th.
“Yeah, I don’t know. It would be splendid,” he added with a groan.
Skyfall director, Mendes, announced his ambitious four-part project back in February 2024.
Mendes will be collaborating with Sony Pictures and Neal Street Productions for the films based on the story of the Beatles, including Lennon, who was shot in 1980 and died at the age of 40, as well as his bandmates Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr through each individual’s perspective.
Although the casting for the biopic has not been officially announced, it is speculated that Dickinson will be co-starring with Paul Mescal as McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Starr, and either Joseph Quinn or Charlie Rowe as Harrison.
