Well folks, the secret is out.
After centuries of delighting visitors with its miles of pristine beaches, charming cobblestone streets, and vibrant culture, the rest of the world has finally gotten word about all that St. Augustine has to offer. It was bound to happen sooner or later, we suppose!
This week it was announced that our beloved St. Augustine was included on Booking.com’s list of the “10 Most Welcoming Places on Earth for 2025.” The historic Florida destination also happens to be the only U.S. city on the illustrious list based on more than 360 million verified customer reviews determining outstanding hospitality and service.
“The U.S. is such a diverse country that has so much to offer travelers, and we’re thrilled to see destinations like St. Augustine recognized in the global list for their exceptional hospitality,” Ben Harrell, Managing Director, U.S. at Booking.com, said in a news release. “Whether travelers want to explore the country’s historic sites, relax on its stunning beaches, or venture into the great outdoors, Booking.com makes it easier to find the perfect stay—from hotels to vacation rentals—with the Traveler Review Awards celebrating partners who go above and beyond to extend their hospitality, making those travel experiences unforgettable for guests.”
Booking.com’s list “Most Welcoming Places on Earth” list also includes lesser-known international locations like Sigiriya, Sri Lanka; Manizales, Colombia; and Ko Lanta, Thailand.
“Travelers are increasingly drawn to authentic, off-the-beaten-path adventures, shaped by exceptional hospitality and service,” the company’s release notes.
St. Augustine boasts the perfect combination of history, culture, and seaside relaxation. From ghost tours and live music to restaurants and beaches, a getaway to historic St. Augustine offers endless adventure.
Booking.com recommends exploring the lively, pedestal-only St. George Street and Flagler College, described as a “stunning example of the over-the-top, imposing nature of typical Gilded Age architecture.” If relaxing in the sun is more your speed, St. Augustine is home to miles of beautiful, sandy beaches.
Trust us, you can’t go wrong.
