Just like every other major fashion house on the planet, Chanel sure does like to have a selection of brand ambassadors on speed dial. Currently on the Chanel roster is everyone from Margot Robbie and Lily-Rose Depp to Whitney Peak and Riley Keough. Over recent months, the fabled French fashion house added Lupita Nyong’o and Gracie Abrams as brand ambassadors. Dua Lipa is the brand’s latest signing, and makes her official debut in the Chanel 25 handbag advertising campaign for 2025. Fresh from attending the Chanel Haute Couture Spring 2025 showcase in Paris, Dua becomes the face and embodiment of the handbag crafted with the iconic Chanel quilting, and features an interlaced chain and multiple pockets. In the campaign video by Gordon von Steiner, the English-Albanian singer roams the streets of New York while poses for David Sims in the accompanying print imagery.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“That’s what I call an ugly bag,” immediately shrieked Creative.
“Dua Lipa can be everything but a Chanel girl. She lacks the classic, elegant classy beauty a Chanel girl should have. The bags are horrendous,” echoed svpernova.
“YSL, Versace, Chanel… get those coins girl! The bag is hideous but she does look good,” WAVES confessed.
After all, not everyone was underwhelmed. “Quite surprised to see Dua Lipa become a Chanel brand ambassador but I’m very pleasantly surprised with the outcome,” vogue28 voiced. “The video has a very youthful energy, and feels like a breath of fresh air. I love the song choice, the styling, and the whole concept. Also very much a fan of the print campaign!”
“I like the print image, I think it works as a handbag campaign and Dua looks great!” enthused aracic.
