Clapping push-ups are more intense than regular push-ups. This exercise fully engages your core and increases the intensity of your workout. If you are looking to increase the level of your workout, a clapping push-up is a perfect place to start. Here are five reasons why clap push-ups are more effective than regular push-ups.
- 1. Increased Explosive Power: Clap push-ups require you to push off the ground with enough force to get your hands in the air. This explosive movement helps develop fast-twitch muscle fibres, improving your overall power and speed.
- 2. Enhanced Upper Body Strength: Because of the explosive nature of clap push-ups, they target your chest, shoulders, and triceps more intensely than regular push-ups. This helps in building greater upper body strength.
- 3. Improved Coordination and Agility: The requirement to clap your hands between push-ups challenges your coordination and agility. You need to time the push-off and clap precisely, which improves your body control and reaction time.
- 4. Greater Core Engagement: To achieve the height needed for the clap, your core must stay engaged throughout the movement. This forces your abs, lower back, and obliques to work harder, providing a more comprehensive core workout.
- 5. Increased Intensity and Challenge: Clap push-ups require more force, agility, and control. This higher intensity leads to increased muscle activation and faster progress in strength, endurance, and overall fitness.
