Meghan Markle, known for her California aesthetic, is giving a masterclass in winter dressing while in Canada for the latest iteration of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games.
On February 10, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex traveled from Vancouver—where they’d been since late last week—to Whistler for a very important reason: to welcome winter sports to the Invictus Games for the first time. The Games, which have been in existence since 2014, are expanding their reach to winter sports while in Canada, and the couple took part in the Whistler Welcoming Ceremony and watched competitors take part in the skeleton event on Monday.

In an impromptu speech on February 7, Meghan spoke of Harry, telling competitors “you are his family,” and adding that the Invictus Games “means so much” to her husband.
“I hope you recognize how much of his heart he has poured into every single beat that has gotten all of you to this week that’s going to be spectacular,” she said. “I need you to know that, how much it means to him and how much each of you mean to him.”

In his own remarks, Harry said, “Over the past decade I’ve lost count of the times we’ve heard you tell us that the Invictus Games saved you. Respectfully, I disagree. Invictus didn’t save you. You saved yourself.”
The Games continue through the weekend, with no doubt more examples in store of how Meghan—who previously lived in both Canada and the U.K. before returning to her home state of California in 2020—hasn’t forgotten how to dress for frigid temperatures.
