Soaked chana or bheega chana, is used in numerous delectable dishes, including amti, hurda, brinjal, and a particularly flavourful soaked gram chutney. This chutney, made quickly in just five minutes with minimal ingredients, is incredibly flavourful and pairs well with everyday meals. Here is how to prepare a spicy soaked chana chutney, as shared by Sarika Papadkar, a homemaker from Amravati, Maharashtra.
Ingredients
- Roasted gram
- Green chillies
- Curry leaves
- Cumin seeds
- Coriander
- Garlic cloves
- Salt (to taste)
Recipe
- In a mixer jar, add roasted gram, green chillies, curry leaves, and garlic cloves.
- Add cumin seeds and coriander, followed by salt to taste.
- Grind all the ingredients together, ensuring the chutney remains slightly coarse rather than too fine.
- For added flavour, you can mix in a little sugar and lemon juice.
- Once blended, your chutney is ready to serve.
It pairs excellently with everyday meals and can be enjoyed with a little oil. If you do not have vegetables at home, this chutney makes a great accompaniment to bread or roti. Its rich and tangy taste will make you forget about missing vegetables!
