Cue the Pavarotti and dig into this dinner recipe with big Italian flavor. We combined a simple mix of ingredients into a big pasta dish that packs in broccoli and chicken sausage—a bright and light pasta dish that makes your weeknights extra satisfying. We like topping ours with extra lemon juice and some Parmesan for additional flavor.
This pasta dish is a meal in itself, but you can easily add some of our favorite fresh side dishes to the table. We recommend serving with garlic bread or an Italian salad. Broccoli and chicken sausage pasta is also great for meal prep, so make a batch and place in containers for the first few days of the week. Fresh pasta works best for this recipe, but you can used dried noodles cooked according to package directions.

What Is in Pasta with Broccoli and Chicken Sausage?
This is one of the easiest pasta dishes you can make. It requires hardly any ingredients, most of which you probably have in your pantry already. Chicken broth flavors the pasta water, but you can easily cook the noodles without it if you’d prefer. Saute the Italian-flavored chicken sausages, or choose another savory flavor if you’d like. Broccoli was our vegetable of choice here; it complements the lemon and Parmesan additions, but you could also toss in spinach, bell peppers, or zucchini and squash. Add some cracked black pepper and enjoy!
Test Kitchen Tips: Adding chicken broth to your boiling water infuses fresh pasta and broccoli florets with flavor. Save 1 cup of cooking liquid before draining for extra moisture at the end.
