She explained how hackers send a verification code to your WhatsApp mobile number through a friend’s hacked WhatsApp account, and ask you to share the two-step verification code.
Once you share the code, your phone also gets hacked, and the chain continues as you become the next person to send a verification code to someone else. Rodrigues stressed upon the importance of being aware of this scam and urged people not to share the verification code to prevent falling prey to hackers.

Update your WhatsApp regularly:
Updating your WhatsApp app regularly is important to ensure security. Every update comes with the newest security patches and features that are supposed to fight new hacking methods. Keeping the app updated makes sure that you get the maximum protection for your account from possible threats and unauthorized access.
Stay aware of unknown links and messages:
Avoid clicking on links or messages sent by unknown contacts. They may be fraud activities that attempt to steal your personal details or install malware on your device.
