Every time I remember that Jane Fonda is nearing her 90s, I’m genuinely baffled. At 87, her hair is full and luscious, her glam is always on-point, and her ‘fits rarely disappoint. Recently, the star attended the Producers Guild Awards in Los Angeles, and of course, looked fabulous as ever doing it. Her business-chic ensemble included pleated wide-leg pants and metallic shoes, two styles I promptly added to my spring wishlist.

Fonda is hardly the only celeb to sport flowy trousers this season; Sofia Vergara, Katie Holmes, and Kate Middleton have brought out the style, too. This also isn’t Fonda’s first time experimenting with flashy footwear—she flaunted a pair of silver Mary Jane flats in Cannes last spring.
To recreate Fonda’s look, I set off to Amazon in search of lookalikes. There, I found plenty of similar trousers and metallic shoes, which you can shop below from just $19.

As a devoted jeans girl, I never thought that trousers would be for me. Thankfully, I’ve seen the light, and now consider them one of my favorite styles—they just make everything look more polished. Channel Fonda’s look in this high-waisted beige pair that’s easy to mix and match with other neutrals in your wardrobe. And despite their elevated appearance, the trousers are “super comfortable,” per a reviewer. That probably has something to do with their stretchy elastic waistband and lightweight, breathable material.
Since baggy trousers have become a major trend, there are plenty of fashion-forward variations available, too. For example, this cargo pair has flap pockets on the sides, giving the pants a more casual, cool-girl vibe. Personally, I could see myself sporting these with an oversized sweater and sneakers. If you’re after a more comfortable, loungewear-inspired vibe, try these waffle-knit palazzo pants, which make the perfect comfy-yet-stylish everyday bottoms.

Fonda finished off her look with a pair of metallic shoes, proving this 2024 trend isn’t going away this year. If, like Fonda, you’re a fan of strappy, geometric designs, take a look at these silver mules from JW Pei with walking-friendly kitten heels. For my heel-hesitant shoppers (I’m with you), though, keep it comfortable in this pair of silver Steve Madden Mary Janes, which look similar to ones Fonda has previously worn.
While Fonda’s trousers and silver shoes made their debut on a carpet, these styles work just as well for more casual affairs. Recently, I’ve been wearing my wide-leg trousers with a fitted T-shirt in an effort to master the whole “tiny top big pants” formula. As for eye-catching footwear, silver heels or flats are perfect for pairing with jeans, midi skirts, and dresses come spring and summer. Of course, you could copy and paste Fonda’s look by pairing these styles together and throwing on a blazer and chic blouse.
