Nina Dobrev is so much more than an actress—in addition to being a model and brand ambassador, consider putting “hairstylist” down on her already impressive resume.
On February 20, The Vampire Diaries actress took to Instagram and showed her taking matters into her own hands while in the hair and makeup trailer. Dressed in a purple salon cape, Dobrev expertly held a pair of shears and cut her own bangs like a true professional, taking tiny snips at the front and sides of her bangs.

Every hairstylist needs an assistant though—to help, Dobrev recruited a friend to hold the sides of her bangs with a fine toothed comb in order to get her cut as precise as possible. “In case you were wondering how we dooooooo it,” she captioned the video, which was set to Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It.”
Bangs has been a staple of Dobrev’s look for the past few years now, with the actress telling People in 2023 that she has an extensive regimen to keep them looking their absolute best.

“My hairstylist, we did a FaceTime, and he taught me how to blow it out myself, and I use the Kevin Murphy Doo Over Dry Powder Finishing Hairspray,” she told the outlet. “It’s the only thing I put on my bangs after they’ve been blown out. It makes them more texturized and dirty looking, which is what you want when you have bangs,” she added. “You don’t want them to be clean, surprisingly.”
