Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially in the clear to date other people, as TMZ reported that the former couple is now legally single one month after finalizing their divorce.
Affleck and Lopez reached a settlement in their divorce on January 6, but were not declared legally single until February 20. According to a new TMZ report, the ex-spouses needed to wait for a judge to sign off to formally dissolve their relationship and make their marriage status read as single.

Fans of Lopez and Affleck’s relationship were shocked to learn that the couple had no prenuptial agreement in place, in the event their relationship ended in divorce. Despite the lack of prenup, the couple managed to settle their divorce less than six months after Lopez originally filed (she filed on what would have been their second wedding anniversary, August 20, 2024).

The divorce settlement terms, as reported by TMZ, revealed that Lopez and Affleck would “each walk away with what they individually acquired during the marriage. The money Ben earned from his various movie projects is his, and the same goes for what J.Lo earned during their 2-year marriage,” with neither party being required to “pay spousal support to the other.”

At the time, the outlet confirmed that “Ben will keep his stake in his hugely successful production company, Artists Equity.” Lopez and Affleck als reached an agreement regarding their $61 million home in Los Angeles, but the home continues to remain on the market.
In the time since the divorce filing, an insider told People that Lopez is “focused on her own life” and wants to make 2025 the best year it can be, in light of the recent rough patch: “She has had a rough year but is doing well.”
