The holiday season can be a rather expensive time for U.S. households.
As our friends at Investopedia recently explained, holiday retail sales in November and December of this year are expected to grow up to 3.5% year over year and potentially hit a new record of up to $989 billion (up from the $955.6 billion record set in 2023). So yeah, you may be looking for places where you can save a little cash to use on presents or holiday events instead. And that’s where Shake Shack’s new holiday burger promo comes in.
On Monday, Shake Shack announced it’s “bringing holiday cheer and gifting its diehard fans through the launch of the Holiday Burger Blitz,” which it explained is nine straight days of burger-centric freebies.
Starting next Monday, December 16, through Tuesday, December 24, customers can visit any of its more than 350 stores or in-app to get a free Shake Shack burger with a $10 minimum purchase. All you need to do is use the code “BURGERBLITZ in the app.
Each day has a new, specific freebie. On Monday, December 16, it’s a ShackBurger, then a free SmokeShack burger on Tuesday, December 17, followed by an Avocado Bacon Burger on Wednesday, December 18, a classic Cheeseburger on Thursday, December 19, a Black Truffle Burger on Friday, December 20, and a free Bacon Cheeseburger on Saturday, December 21. Rounding out the freebies is an Avocado Bacon Burger on Sunday, December 22, then a free SmokeShack on December 23, and a free ShackBurger on December 24.

“To keep up the holiday spirit, each burger can be paired with Shake Shack’s trio of holiday shakes, including the fan-favorite Christmas Cookie Shake alongside a Chocolate Yule Log Shake and Apple Cider Donut Shake,” the brand added, but just note, you’ll have to pay for these.

And if you really want to drive home your holiday love of Shake Shack, you could always pick up some of its holiday merch, which includes four holiday ornaments created in partnership with Craftspring, a New York-based, woman-led ornaments and gifts specialist, including a tiny burger on top of a Shake Shack napkin, a Christmas Cookie Shake ornament, a Lady Liberty Ornament, and a Madison Square Park ornament, which the company shared with Food & Wine is “perfect for New Yorkers and all our fans from day one.”
