On December 13th, the 27-year-old actress took to Instagram to respond to body-shaming trolls in a video featuring hateful comments about her appearance.
“Nothing to see here other than an average chunky Yankee girl,” one comment read.
Another commenter stated, “Quite frumpy, isn’t she?”
Others labeled her as “butter-face,” and called her chunky.
The collage of the comments is followed by a montage of the Anyone But You star fiercely training for her role as Christy Martin in the upcoming biopic.
Her workout reel captures her intense training, from flipping tyres, weightlifting, and boxing, while showing off her muscular arms.
These comments seem to come from paparazzi images of Sweeney in a bikini, relaxing in her Florida home.
While the star’s haters passed judgment on her looks, many jumped to her defense by calling out the invasive photographs and crude comments.
“There are a lot of clowns not employed by the circus, Sydney. Stuck to their phones/keyboards in the land of delusion,” one fan said.
“They only hate you because you’re a better individual than themselves. Keep being amazing.”
