A simmering tension between Punjabi music singers Diljit Dosanjh and AP Dhillon took centre stage after AP Dhillon alleged during a concert that Diljit Dosanjh had blocked him on Instagram, igniting a debate among fans and stirring online drama.
The controversy began when AP Dhillon, best known for his hit track “Brown Munde,” took the stage and addressed Diljit Dosanjh’s remarks made during his Indore concert earlier in the week.
In Indore, Diljit Dosanjh had praised his contemporaries, including AP Dhillon and Karan Aujla, saying, “Two of my brothers, Karan Aujla and AP Dhillon, have started their tour; best of luck to them. The time for independent music has begun.” He also encouraged independent artists to push harder, asserting, “The time for Indian music has arrived.”
However, AP Dhillon, during his Chandigarh performance, appeared to take issue with Diljit Dosanjh’s gesture. “I just want to say one thing, brother. First, unblock me on Instagram and then talk to me”. He went on to emphasise his commitment to staying controversy-free throughout his three-year career, hinting at possible tension between the two artists.
The unexpected accusation prompted Diljit Dosanjh to take to Instagram, where he posted a screenshot to disprove the claim. The screenshot showed AP Dhillon’s profile as accessible from Dosanjh’s account. Accompanying the image, Diljit Dosanjh wrote, “I never blocked you. My issues could be with governments, not with artists.”

In response, AP Dhillon shared videos on Instagram stories that seemed to contradict Diljit Dosanjh’s stance. In the clips, AP Dhillon showed that Diljit Dosanjh’s account was initially inaccessible to him and later became viewable. “At least now we know what’s real and what’s not,” AP Dhillon remarked cryptically, adding fuel to the debate.

The feud has captivated fans and industry insiders, with many speculating about the underlying reasons for the apparent discord. Adding an intriguing twist, rapper Badshah posted a cryptic Instagram story urging unity among artists. He wrote “Please don’t make the mistakes that we made. The world is ours for the taking. Like they say, ‘If you wanna go fast, go alone, but if you wanna go far, go together.’ United we stand.”

Meanwhile, actress Banita Sandhu, rumoured to be AP Dhillon’s ex-girlfriend, was seen attending Diljit Dosanjh’s concert, sparking further conversations among fans.
The two artists, both at the pinnacle of their careers, are currently focused on their respective projects. Diljit Dosanjh is wrapping up his Dil-Luminati Tour, which has seen record-breaking attendance.
