Keerthy Suresh stunned on her wedding day, wearing her mother’s 30-year-old wedding saree, refurbished by Anita Dongre, adding a sentimental touch to her Goa ceremony.
Keerthy Suresh’s wedding to longtime partner Antony Thattil on December 20 in Goa was a celebration of love and tradition. The actor made headlines by wearing her mother’s 30-year-old wedding saree, refurbished by designer Anita Dongre, for the ceremony.
In an interview with Galatta India, Keerthy shared the emotional backstory: “It’s my mom’s wedding saree, and I refurbished it. Anita Dongre did it beautifully.” She fondly recalled looking through photos of her mother in the same saree decades ago, adding a sentimental touch to her big day.
Originally, the plan didn’t include the saree. “I was supposed to wear a saree from the groom’s side,” she explained. “But when I saw this saree, I immediately asked my mom if I could wear it.”
The red saree, adorned with silver floral motifs and shimmering zari embroidery, was paired with a matching blouse and accessorized with diamonds, creating a look that seamlessly blended tradition and modern elegance. Keerthy’s thoughtful choice highlighted the enduring power of family and legacy on her special day.
