Angelina Jolie, icon Hollywood actress who has won millions of hearts with her acting skills, has never been one to shy away from speaking her truth.
The 49-year-old star takes on the role of iconic opera singer Maria Callas in biopic Maria. She shared that playing this role helped her connect with the character on a personal level, finding parts of herself in the character.
During her interview with Sky News, Angelina shared: “There’s this kind of study of being human that we do when we create, and we communicate with an audience because our work is not in isolation – it’s a connection.”
“I think when I was younger, I had different questions about being human and different feelings and now as I’ve gotten older, I understand some things and now I have different questions.”
Maria dives into the final days of legendary Maria Callas in her 1977s as she reflects on her life. However, the mother of six revealed that she feels a powerful connection to the role, seeing echoes of her own struggles and triumphs in the story.
“It’s a matter of life, right? And so maybe that’s interesting that this now is a character really contemplating death and really contemplating the toll of certain things in life that I, of course, couldn’t have understood in my 20s,” she continued.
Moreover, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, once considered as golden couple, called it quits back in 2016 after spending beautiful time together, as their divorce marked the end of a Hollywood fairytale.
