- Digital Literacy:As parents, dedicate time to teaching children how to critically evaluate internet content, identify disinformation, and safeguard their online privacy. Encourage them to verify information and engage in courteous online conversations.
- Promote Offline Activities:Encourage adolescents to participate in a wide range of offline activities, including sports, hobbies, and face-to-face social connections. Maintain a screen-free environment for family meals and other social and family gatherings to foster social bonds and two-way communication. Since devices can be distracting at bedtime and disrupt sleep, it’s a good idea to keep screens out of the bedroom.
