The covers of British ELLE might not break new ground or rock out world nowadays, but that doesn’t stop Kenya Hunt from gathering a whole plethora of A-list talent as the magazine’s cover stars. Throughout 2024, Hunt (who has served as EIC since 2022) welcomed everyone from Naomi Campbell and Margaret Qualley to Alicia Vikander and Riley Keough as cover stars. Hunt kick-starts the new year by ushering in Cynthia Erivo onto the cover of British ELLE for February 2025. The British talent poses for photographer Fabien Montique, with the cover shoot complete with styling from Charles Varenne. The Louis Vuitton brand ambassador strikes a pose in a look designed by Nicolas Ghesquière in the cover image, plucked from the Spring 2025 collection.

“Everything is awful,” instantly declared mepps upon checking out the cover.
“What an eyesore of a cover! Ugh. So unattractive, and a complete mess despite the clean white backdrop. Shocking choice in cover image. Not only does Cynthia Erivo look ridiculous but that Louis Vuitton looks like rags,” voiced vogue28.
“Why don’t British ELLE take your time to edit the magazine and not show us this disaster? Horrible,” chimed in forum member Xone.
KoV commented: “I think Cymthia Erivo is a great performer, but that doesn’t always translate into being someone who photographs well for fashion magazines. I can’t think of a shoot or even a single photo of her that I’ve found particularly interesting or beautiful to look at.”
Yet not everyone was so disapproving. “The cover really works for me. The photograph and typography work well together,” admired MModa.
