The Dior show marked Sonam Kapoor’s first attendance as the brand’s global ambassador.
Sonam Kapoor and Dior have shared a long-standing relationship and Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2025 just saw the magic come alive. Sonam Kapoor became the Dior ambassador for collections dreamed up by Maria Grazia Chiuri.
Styled by Rhea Kapoor, Abhilasha Devnani and Chandni Modha, Sonam Kapoor was the only Indian celebrity present at the prestigious and supremely marquee event, which is one of the most anticipated ones in the global fashion calendar. Exuding the audacity, grace and elegance of Dior style, Sonam Kapoor graced the Christian Dior showcase in a sheer black dress paired with a voluminous faux fur coat. Kudos for choosing cruelty-free fashion!
Attending her first Dior show, now as the global ambassador of the French luxury house, Sonam Kapoor shares, “This Dior show holds a very special place in my heart as it marks my first attendance as the brand’s global ambassador since it was announced in October. Having attended Dior’s shows in the past as an admirer, stepping into this role as their first South Asian ambassador feels truly surreal.”
Sonam further adds, “Dior has always been more than just a brand to me—it has been an integral part of my personal style journey and a creative partner in many of my films. Becoming a part of this storied legacy is both an honour and a responsibility, one that I embrace with great pride. I look forward to deepening my association with Dior and shining a spotlight on the incredible artistry of Indian and South Asian craftsmen, bringing their talent to the global stage.”
Apart from being the brand ambassador, another reason the show was special for Sonam was that dear friend, artist Rithika Merchant’s artwork was commissioned exclusively for the Dior show. Rithika was the artistic mind behind the note announcing the birth of Sonam’s son, Vayu, back in 2022. Expressing her excitement on seeing Rithika’s art take centre stage Sonam says, “I have known Rithika for years. I feel proud to be witnessing her work take centre stage in Paris this year. I believe that everyone attending the Paris Fashion Week will celebrate her work like we have done for years now.”
The highlight of this iconic look was the floral arrangement of handwoven rolled fabric buds created by Harshita Gautam of Nomad. The hair accessory ‘Kala Gajra’ as Rhea defined it on her Instagram story, celebrated the powerful cultural ties between the French luxury brand and India. Sonam’s stunning hairstyle was styled by Stephane Lancien. Her glamorous chic makeup was done by celebrity makeup artist Arti Nayar.
Sonam’s luxurious look was further enhanced with jewellery pieces including the silver starlit ear cuff featuring shell pearls from Eurumme and handcrafted pearl kaan chain from Anaash.
