April 2023: In a cover story for Essence, Hurts says, “I’m not married or anything like that, but I am spoken for.” The writer notes that the pair have been dating ”on and off” since college. “I knew a long time ago,” says Hurts about Burrows. “I mean, to this point in my life, that’s an irreplaceable feeling. I think that’s what allowed us to get to where we are now.”
January 2023: Burrows was spotted cheering for Hurts at an Eagles game and joined him on the field after the Birds won.
2016–2017: It’s not clear exactly when the pair first met, but it was during their time at the University of Alabama, which Hurts attended from 2016 to 2018, and from which Burrows graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s in Spanish and political science. After graduation, Burrows went on to pursue an MBA, also at ’Bama, and later work for IBM, while Hurts was drafted into the NFL in 2020.
