I’ve never been a dry shampoo girly. For one, some products are too drying and rough-feeling for my strands (I have fine hair that’s thick in texture). Another huge factor is that many dry shampoos leave a powdery-white cast that shows on my dark hair. No matter if I apply the tiniest amount, it looks like I dumped flour onto my head. But my disdain for dry shampoo changed when I started using Briogeo’s Style and Treat Tinted Dry Shampoo Puff.
Briogeo Style and Treat Tinted Dry Shampoo Puff
Briogeo’s tinted dry shampoo is a lightweight, talc-free option that refreshes my fine hair without weighing it down or drying it out into a rough texture. I find that my strands feel softer and smoother, so much so that if I run my hands through my hair, I forget I even applied dry shampoo at all.
I’m able to get this effect because of the formula’s ultra-finely milled starch blend that absorbs oil throughout the day, as well as scalp-soothing ingredients. Among them, biotin supports hair elasticity, strengthens hair follicles and strands, and prevents hair loss, while copper peptides create a healthy hair lifecycle.
In addition to its power-packed formula, I love this dry shampoo because it actually works on dark hair. As someone with raven-black tresses, it’s hard to find a dry shampoo that doesn’t leave a white cast. However, this Briogeo find has a dark enough pigment that easily blends into my strands and covers up sparse areas. I’ve noticed more hair-thinning on my forehead in the last couple of years—especially noticeable when I wear my hair in a ponytail—but with Briogeo’s dry shampoo, I’m able to hide those patches.
The only downside to the dry shampoo is that it makes a mess. It comes in a compact jar that you twist to open, revealing a puff that contains the powder. The application itself is a breeze: I just stamp the puff onto my oily areas and sparse sections, then massage it in. I actually like this design because I can control how much product I use. But if you twist the bottle too much, you run the risk of getting it all over yourself and the bathroom counter.

Of course, this detail is minor compared to the results it gives. And I’m not the only one who has become a fan of this dry shampoo. One shopper who said dry shampoos “never worked” for them noted that this one “quickly absorbs oil, leaving [their] day two and three hair looking like it’s just been washed.” They added that it also “effectively fills in sparse areas.” Another reviewer said they love that it’s compact because it “fits perfectly in [their] purse” for on-the-go touch-ups.
