Jonathan Majors is back!
The actor is returning to the big screen as his long-delayed film Magazine Dreams finally moves forward with a theatrical release.
On January 29, Briarcliff Entertainment unveiled the official trailer for the sports drama, which Majors, 35, filmed before his December 2023 conviction on misdemeanor assault and harassment charges in New York City.
The film follows Killian Maddox, a determined yet troubled bodybuilder fixated on achieving fame in the fitness industry.
“Killian Maddox is consumed by his dream of becoming a world-famous bodybuilder and one day gracing the cover of fitness magazines,” the film’s synopsis states.
“He lives a lonely, regimented life, and his relentless drive for perfection only pushes him deeper towards self-destruction, but beneath his tenacious pursuit of superstardom lies a desperate, aching need for human connection.”
“As he battles both the limits of his physical body and his own inner demons, Magazine Dreams explores the lengths one man will go in his haunting quest for recognition in a world that often overlooks him,” the synopsis continues.
The film originally premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival but faced delays after Majors’ legal issues became public. His trial stemmed from an incident involving ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, which resulted in his conviction.
In April 2024, he was sentenced to participate in a domestic violence treatment program. Following the verdict, Majors was removed from his role as “Kang the Conqueror” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Despite the controversy, Magazine Dreams is now set to hit theaters on March 21.
