Easy Recipe For Basanti Pulao
Ingredients
Rice: 1 cup
Ghee: 3 tablespoons
Raisins: 10-12
Cashews: 10-12 Green
Cardamom: 2-3
Cloves: 2-3
Cinnamon: 1 inch
Bay leaf: 1
Water: 2 cups
Sugar: 3 tablespoons
Turmeric powder: ¼ teaspoon
Saffron threads: 15-20 (optional)
Method
- Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat, add raisins and cashews, and saute until golden brown.
- Add cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and bay leaf, and saute for 3-4 seconds.
- Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan, stirring gently.
- Pour in water, sugar, turmeric powder, and saffron, and mix well.
- Reduce the heat, cover the pan, and let it cook for 20-25 minutes until the rice absorbs all the water.
- Once cooked, remove the pan from the heat and keep it covered for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice gently and garnish with chopped almonds, pistachios, and saffron.
Serve hot and delicious basanti rice with aloo gobi, chana dal, or any curry of your choice.
