Revive dry nail polish using steam, a hot water bath, or nail polish thinner. Prevent drying by storing at room temperature, sealing tightly, and avoiding direct airflow
Avoid unnecessary waste and revive your nail paints with these simple methods. (News18 Hindi)
Most women enjoy wearing nail polish, often purchasing multiple colours at once. However, nail polish can dry out and become unusable due to poor quality or if they are stored improperly. While you might be tempted to discard dried-up nail polish, there are ways to revive your favourite shades. Here are three tips to fix dry nail polish in just a few minutes.
Method 1: Steam Revival
- Fill a saucepan with water and bring it to a boil.
- As the water boils, place a heat-safe bowl or mesh strainer over the saucepan, ensuring it sits above the water line.
- Place the closed bottle of nail polish on the bowl or strainer and cover with a lid.
- Allow the steam to heat the nail polish for approximately five minutes.
- Turn off the heat and carefully remove the bottle. The nail polish should now be restored to its original consistency.
Method 2: Hot Water Bath
- Fill a bowl with hot water.
- Place the closed bottle of nail polish in the bowl and let it sit for a few minutes.
- The heat from the water will help to restore the nail polish.
Method 3: Nail Polish Thinner
- Shake well the bottle of nail polish.
- Add two to three drops of nail polish thinner to the bottle.
- Shake the bottle vigorously to mix the thinner with the nail polish. This should help to thin the consistency and make it usable again.
How To Prevent Nail Polish From Drying Out?
- Always store nail polish at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Ensure the bottle is tightly sealed after each use.
- Avoid applying nail polish in front of a fan, as direct airflow can cause it to dry out quickly.
By following these simple methods, you can salvage your dried-out nail polish and avoid unnecessary waste.
