Shehnaaz Gill became a well-known figure after her appearance on the reality show Bigg Boss 13. From her lively personality to her unique statements, the model-turned-actor found a way into people’s hearts. Apart from her acting career, Gill is also renowned for her drastic weight loss.
The 32-year-old actor said in an interview with Shilpa Shetty Kundra on Mirchi Plus that she made the decision to lose 55 kg in about six months and show her audience a different version of herself. Let’s dive deep into her weight loss journey and her diet during the pandemic period.
The Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan actor revealed that she begins her day with a cup of tea, apple cider vinegar and turmeric water. She typically eats methi parathas, moong, or dosa for breakfast. Gill further mentioned that she watches portion sizes and makes sure her breakfast is rich in protein.
“I also want to become like Shilpa Shetty. You inspire a lot of people to get fit. I have watched your YouTube videos of yoga and all! I don’t do it. I watch your videos and feel fit already. So that is how I get fit,” Gill said in a candid chat with Shilpa Shetty.
“I eat the same things that I used to, but the portion size has been reduced. People wonder what we eat and think that they are so lucky and we don’t have such benefits. So, I want to tell them that they can also do everything like us while staying at home. If you are not allowed to go outside, then walk around in the house. You can do anything you want,” she added.
In another conversation with Times Foodie, the actor shared her poha recipe and said, “Main vegetables zyada rakhti hoon aur poha kam.” Additionally, Gill also pairs it with a bowl of granola and curd. For lunch, she includes sprout salad, tofu scramble, a bowl of dal and a roti smeared in desi ghee. Her diet includes everything that offers protein, carbs, and fibre.
The actor shared that she enjoys heating up ghee in a wok and adding fox nuts or makhana for a quick and low-calorie snack in the evening. She brings this food with her while going outside for her shoots. A plate of khichdi, a bowl of curd and dhoodhi ka soup make up her dinner, which offers the proper amount of vitamins, minerals and nutrients for a nutritious meal.
