Anna Wintour is starting 2025 off strong. Wintour, who has served as Vogue editor-in-chief since 1988, is notorious for welcoming cover stars back onto the cover of the American fashion bible – time and time again. However, the legendary editor is endorsing fresh talent in 2025. Angel Reese and Gabby Thomas both fronted last month’s issue, while Sabrina Carpenter becomes a Vogue cover girl for March 2025. The American singer, songwriter, and actress poses before the lens of forum favorite Steven Meisel for the occasion, with Ib Kamara on styling duties. The Grammy Award-winning princess of pop channels Madonna in the sultry cover shot, working a head full of voluminous platinum curls and a custom Dolce & Gabbana corset dress.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“This could easily be mistaken for a Cosmopolitan cover but nope it’s for Vogue. I actually like this. The Marilyn Monroe direction suits Sabrina well,” instantly admired Kenny.
“I like it. Very Madonna,” KoV noted.
“It was about time! Sabrina Carpenter looks amazing. Happy to see it’s by Steven Meisel. Dream collaboration for me,” raved forum member guimon.
MModa commented: “What a pleasant surprise to see Sabrina Carpenter on Vogue by Steven Meisel. I absolutely love everything about the cover, especially, the pin-up/Madonna inspiration!”
“Sabrina Carpenter in 1991 Madonna drag by Meisel? Oh we are so back!” vogue22 raved.
Yet not everyone was so impressed. “She looks like a little girl playing dress-up in her mother’s closet. The mother being Madonna,” laughed fenty.
“Yikes, it’s hideous. Very amateur,” Avonlea critiqued.
“This is pathetic. Everything that made those Meisel x Madonna collaborations so fabulous, is missing from this,” added a disapproving SanderGreen.
