On September 10, Dave Grohl took to his social media to admit he fathered another child “outside of his marriage” to Jordyn Blum.
The 55-year-old rock legend, who founded the Foo Fighters, announced the birth of his daughter and confessed he was trying to earn back his family’s forgiveness after his infidelity.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” he wrote on Instagram. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.
“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together,” he concluded.
The Independent has contacted Grohl’s representatives for a comment.
Grohl has been married to Blum, 48, since August 2003. The pair met two years prior at Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar in West Hollywood. At the time, Blum had just entered the film industry as an MTV producer, phasing out her modeling career to one day pursue her directorial dreams.
According to Grohl’s 2007 interview with Elle, the rock star didn’t return Blum’s calls until three months after their initial meeting. It took him 12 weeks to decide he wanted to pursue things with the creative and two years of dating before he said, “I do,” promising to spend the rest of his life with her.
Grohl’s current spouse has notoriously worked alongside him, helping to direct his band’s music videos like she did with “Walking a Line.” She also starred in the band’s “White Limo” video.
Three years later, Blum gave birth to her first baby with the musician, Violet. Not long after, the couple welcomed two more daughters – Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.
Violet, 18, has followed in the footsteps of her father, wanting to carve out her own career path in the music industry. During the Foo Fighters’ performance at the 2023 Glastonbury festival, Grohl’s eldest daughter joined him on stage and was introduced as “his favorite singer in the world.”
Blum and her three girls have consistently shown up for Grohl, accompanying him on the red carpet and supporting him at his shows. According to People magazine, Violent has deactivated her Instagram account following her father’s September 10 confession.
Recently, Grohl and Blum were spotted out together at the 2024 Wimbledon tennis tournament in London. The director was pictured in a short-sleeved blue collared dress, while the on-stage performer sported a sleek suit and slicked back hair.
Before Blum, the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” creator was married to Jennifer Youngblood, a photographer. The former pair were together for three years, from 1994 to 1997.
